"Tunes for the Dancing of Country Dances from The English Dancing Master"
The English Dancing Master was first published by John Playford in 1651, to be sold at his shop in the Inner Temple near the church door.
Cecil Sharp and George Butterworth transcribed and presented this selection of the Playford dances. This record includes eleven dances from The Country Dance Books, Part 3 published in 1912 and three from Pt 4 published in 1916.
